Mass of the Holy Spirit
September 3, 2020
The Regina Pacis Academy community, including members of the Board of Trustees, school administration, faculty, students, and families, gathered together on Thursday, September 3, for a Votive Mass of the Holy Spirit, the traditional Mass celebrated at the beginning of an academic year. The celebration of this Mass is an important event in the life of our school as it provides our community the opportunity to begin the academic year rooted in prayer, as we call upon the Holy Spirit to come down upon our beloved school. In addition, it is our custom at this Mass - one shared by few Catholic elementary schools - of having the members of our Board, administration, and faculty make a public Profession of Faith and take an Oath of Fidelity to the Magisterium of the Roman Catholic Church. This is a public affirmation of Regina Pacis’ Mission Statement, namely “to achieve academic excellence and to nurture an intimate relationship with Christ as modeled by the Apostles, by providing a Roman Catholic classical education taught by teachers loyal to the Magisterium.” Finally, at the conclusion of the Mass, students and members of our faculty new to Regina Pacis received the Brown Scapular and were invested in the Confraternity of the Blessed Virgin of Mount Carmel.
